What Is It #1?

I have been out and about with my new macro lens. Thought it would be fun to post some pictures and see if you can guess what it is. Here is the first one. Can you guess what it is?

Spring Flowers

Here is another spring flower picture I took!

My favorite recent picture

I must say this is the favorite flower shot that I have taken lately. I was walking the kids to the bus line and noticed tulips blooming. I made a friend go back with me when I had my camera with the macro lens ready to go. I love the faded look of this shot! It was a windy day and the flowers kept blowing around so I'm shocked I got such a good shot!

Washington Monument

These are a few pictures I took of the Washington Monument. The first one was taken from the WWII Memorial. The other was taken from the base of the WM. Check out the 2 colors on it. Did you know that when they were building it they ran out of money and had to quit. When they went back to it they couldn't find the correct color so they went with it. Do you know the difference between a memorial and a monument?

While in D.C. we got to tour the inside of the Capitol building. There were lots of statues and neat things to photograph. My favorite part was the top of the inside of the dome. So beautiful!

Just got home...

...from D.C.. I went to Washington D.C. with some of my students and we had a great time. It was cold and it drizzled on us the entire time we were there. As a parting gift, the sun came out as we were getting on the bus to go home. So over the next few days I'll be posting some of the pictures I took while on the trip. This one was taken at the Lincoln Memorial. It was lit up at night and it actually looked like Lincoln was glowing!
The last picture was taken with my camera, however, my friend Kelly took it. I wanted a picture of me standing next to Lincoln. It is amazing how big he really is! Funny, he never looked that big on the penny!

Leigha, Kara, Kayla, and Chris

OK, I didn't take the photos but I thought they should be shared all the same. My sister-in-law took these adorable photos of my nieces Leigha and Kara. They are twins but look nothing alike.

I used my new Photoshop Elements program to edit the color and keep the original eye color. I really like the way they look. Leigha's eyes pop a little more because they are blue. It was something I enjoyed doing.

I also took this picture (at Christmas) of another of my adorable nieces, Kayla, and my husband Chris. Kayla is Leigha and Kara's big sister. In the original she had food on her face. As you can see, the food has been removed. How neat is that???

Little Miss Cassie

Little Miss Cassie won photogentic with the picture I took of her a few weeks ago. She is so precious and looked so pretty today. She was very proud of her trophy.
I picked up Photoshop Elements 7 this week and I have been playing around with it some. I took her picture and kept the eyes blue. Her mom and I think she looks a little evil this way. I'll post it again later to see what you think.

Pink Flowers

This obviously isn't a picture I took today. I didn't take any new pictures so I'm posting an old favorite. These are little pink flowers that grow in the clover outside my front door. I cropped it and faded the edges with Photoscape. I hope you like it. This is one of my favorite flower photos.

Watch for Deer

I took this one of a sign on the side of a country road. Watch for deer. It was getting dark but you can't really tell in this picture. I am actually surprised at how bright it is.

Bad Weather

Bad weather was moving in on my way home today. I saw so many neat looking clouds I'd of loved to take pictures of. I wish someone else would have been driving my car! I stopped at the end of my street and took this one.

Sunset

Chris and I went out driving and took this picture of the sunset. It was a beautiful day and perfect for a picture.

1/35th Scale Jeep

I took this picture of a 1/35th scale model my husband built. It is a jeep he is building for his military model. Can you see the sand he put on the tires? Really, can you believe this is a plastic model? I took a picture of it with my new macro lens.

Siler

Chris and I went to watch my friend's little boy, Siler. Of course I had to take the camera so I could get some pictures of this precious little one.

New Guitar for Chris

My husband, Chris, got a new acoustic guitar today. I was playing around with my new macro lens and this is what I got. I took several of them but I liked this one best.

I posted a new pic- faint!

I think 365 is a little too much for me. I have not been feeling well and I can't get a picture made every day. So I have decided to do what I can. I went out last weekend and took some pictures of my friend's daughter. She is going to be in her first pageant and needed a picture to enter photogenic. This is one of the best of the bunch. I have quite a few good ones but I love this one! I want to get some more practice with taking pictures of people so I might be able to do some pictures on the side to make a little extra cash. Then I can buy some new camera equipment!

Jan 3, 2009

This is something my friend Trace made. We laugh because I never cook. In fact, I can't remember the last time I cooked anything. So I took a picture of the food at her house. Maybe you had to be there.

When all else fails, take a picture of the dog. Right?

Jan 1, 2009

I took this right after sunset on Jan 1st. It is kind of dark but I have to play around with my settings again. The light was fading fast so I used my photo editing program to lighten it up. This is looking out across the street from my house.

Photo Blog

I saw on SCS that several people are trying a 365 photo challenge. I thought this sounds like fun so I decided to give it a shot. I don't know that I'll be able to take a picture every day, but I'm going to try!
