I'm taking an online writing class and the assignment was to make a heart map. You can design it any way you want. The only rules are you draw a heart and list things you love. I know I"m going to be doing this with my student the first day of school. It was so easy and I'm sure I'll learn a lot about each of the kids.
I've been working hard to get my classroom ready for the upcoming school year. I'm excited because this year my theme is going to be the paparazzi. I'm going with red, black, and white for my colors. I still have a few finishing touches to add but it is coming together.
So, my assignment for my photography class was to take a picture of something with backlighting and then overexpose. I have been having a hard time finding a subject to photograph. In the afternoon sun my house has backlighting so I went out in the street to take a picture. I could tell a difference when I overexposed the photograph because the house didn't look so darkly shaded. This photo is a big overexposed. However the sky was a bright blue in the correct exposure and it isn't here.
My husband's cousin posted a funny link a month ago about someone who bought one of these giant things for her home. It made me laugh and when I saw this thing in front of the BBQ place in Decatur, AL I just had to stop and take a picture.
I had a great time taking pictures of the Webster family today. They are so much fun and James keeps us all laughing. These are a few of the best shots from today.
I am continuing to take pictures on a regular basis. I take most of my pictures in manual mode now and I'm getting more comfortable doing so. I still want to practice my people picture skills. My favorite type of picture is macro.
I've been getting serious about photography for a little over two years. I want to learn everything I can so I read lots of books (my friends give me a hard time and tell me I'm reading textbooks).
