I got a new camera and just had a chance to play a little tonight. I took pictures of the tree, which was a little challenging since Chris likes the lights to blink. So using a long SS I was able to capture shots that give the appearance that all the lights are on.
My friend Alice asked me to take pictures of her and her family this weekend. The girls did a great job with pictures! We took pictures for about and hour with no melt downs. There was a lady that was walking her dog and the girls loved that dog. She came over and let the girls pet the dog and I was able to get a lot of really cute pictures of the girls laughing at that dog.
I had 2 more sessions planned for today. I took pictures of my former student, Hailey. I had a great time hanging out with her for a little while today. Hailey is the one who started my cockroach collection at school. We started with the 2 she gave me and now we have 35 or more.
I took pictures of the Reasner family today. I always have so much fun taking pictures of people. Cassie is so photogenic. Dakota never smiles when I have my camera. He is the kid that normally runs from me when I have my camera out. But, as you can see, he smiled today!
This weekend I took pictures of my brother, Kevin, and his family. I love these little girls. I had some luck getting pictures of them alone but getting a family group shot was so much more difficult. I just snapped away because sometimes they were looking at the camera and sometimes they weren't. With tons of the same picture there was normally at least one I could say was a good shot.
Today when we went to recess I grabbed the camera and reflector. I had tons of students willing to have their picture made. I needed to practice getting that light in their eyes. There were plenty of volunteers to hold the reflector and to have their picture made. We all had fun at recess today!
Took Bandit out this morning and looked up to see a hot air balloon flying by. I got Chris to bring my camera bag outside and I snapped a few pictures. It was pretty far away but I got some pics anyways. The sky was so blue with no clouds and the colors on the balloon were so bright that I told Chris it looked like a cartoon.
Went out Monday to take some pictures of a former student, Miller, at his football game. He is #7. This is the first time I've taken pictures of football and it was just about a challenging as taking pictures at the drag races. At least with the cars I knew which way they were going. These guys were all over the place. I struggled some once the sun started setting too. But overall I'm happy with the few images I captured.
I had a lot of fun taking pictures of the Madagan family last weekend. This is the first family session I've done. Of course I had to give them a hard time when they changed into their Auburn gear. I told them I might not be able to get good pictures with them in orange and blue.
It has been a while since I've taken a macro photo. These are really my favorite photos to take. I went to take Bandit out and this snail was creeping across the patio. I had plenty of time to go inside, change the lens, and come back to take the picture. I couldn't even tell he had moved.
I think this might be my favorite picture from the drag strip this weekend. I was playing around with settings and techniques. I took this one in manual mode and panned into the sun as they raced down the track.
I was able to get these pictures to the bride and groom this week so I wanted to post a few of my favorites here. These are just the pictures I took of the two of them after the ceremony.
I am continuing to take pictures on a regular basis. I take most of my pictures in manual mode now and I'm getting more comfortable doing so. I still want to practice my people picture skills. My favorite type of picture is macro.
I've been getting serious about photography for a little over two years. I want to learn everything I can so I read lots of books (my friends give me a hard time and tell me I'm reading textbooks).
