This is a flower on a plant that one of my student's parent gave me at the end of the school year. Everyone is shocked that I haven't killed it yet. I feel that day is coming soon but I thought I'd take a picture before that happens.

Another Week 1 Picture

Here's another pic I took for my class. The next assignment is going to be a challenge. I have to take pictures of things with bright colors. Guess I'll have to get out and search.

MLK Photography Class

I just signed up for an on-line photography class. I took several pictures yesterday with several different settings. I think the hardest part so far is using manual focus.

I took this picture when we went to Rockford, AL to escape when we lost power for a week. It is so peaceful down there. You can see the boat in the picture that has been down there as long as my husband can remember.

We went to Rockford, AL to escape days on end without power. Of course I packed up the camera and took it along with me. My father-in-law had me bring the camera out when he went to feed the fish. I took several pictures of them but this is the best one. I just can't get over how ugly these fish are. I told my husband that it looked like an alien from another planet.

The power was finally restored yesterday and the phone lines this morning.

This is a picture of the damage just north of my house. We survived with very little damage but we had a close call. We watched 4 tornados from our back window.

The last one that came through was the big one. I have heard the train noise and I never want to hear that again. I have never heard thunder and seen lightning at exactly the same time and it was never ending. It sounded like we were being bombed. The house was even shaking. I'm really shocked that the back windows weren't blown out here because of the hail.

All I can say is that we are blessed. It was heading straight for us and took a small turn and went two tenths of a mile from here. I am praying for all of those who were effected by this.
