Day 59- Little girls

My brother came up today with his girls. I love spending time with them and glad I get to see them as much as I do. Leigha loves Aunt Shell and is my shadow the whole time.

In the 2nd picture Kayla is showing me her ballet moves. She wants Aunt Shell to show her some more moves. Kayla is taking ballet and loves it!

Kara was absorbed in her cartoons today. It was so funny when I came in. She was sitting in the big recliner. She didn't even realize I came in. A little while later she looked over and saw me, waved, and went back to watching her cartoons.

Day 57- Full Moon

Full Moon
Originally uploaded by shaddybaby

Sorry I was MIA this week. Things were just crazy and I was worn out after my Birmingham trip. I never got caught up on my sleep after that. I was exhausted for the rest of the week. I went out tonight and took a picture of the moon.

Maybe you guys can help me. Do you see how the moon doesn't seem to be sharp around the edges? Anyone know how can I fix that?

MIA

I went with my best friends to Birmingham to a Science Workshop yesterday and just got home tonight. I will pick back up with my pictures tomorrow. I am so worn out and just wanted to let you know I haven't quit. :)

I will be going out of town tomorrow so I'm not sure that I'll be posting a picture. If I am not able to get to a computer look for two pictures Thursday.

Day 52- Diamonds

My theme this week is affection. My honey shows me affection with diamonds. I love diamonds and they are my birth stone. This picture doesn't have a sharp focus but I kind of like it. Also, see the heart on the top? Goes perfectly with affection right?

Day 50- Beans

I never cook them so I figured they might make an interesting picture. I used my macro lens again. Are you guys getting sick of my macro pics yet?

Why is it I struggle with the theme at the end of the week? I'm having trouble with the kitchen theme now. Guess I'll have to figure out one more thing tomorrow.

Day 49- Dr. Pepper & Brownies

It is a rare occasion when you don't find me with a Dr. Pepper near by. These two bite brownies are also my favorite snack. I normally eat them 4 bites at a time. :) This picture was surprisingly hard because I kept getting a glare off the Dr. Pepper label. I finally got everything set so I could take the picture w/out a big white line down the label. Of course I took this with my macro.

Day 48- Grapes

Ok, they weren't in my kitchen until I went to Kroger and bought them tonight. This one was my husband's idea. I secretly think he just wanted grapes. I still think I like my macro grapes better.

I know, I really need to do something else but I keep coming back to these macro shots. I just love being up close to everything.

Day 47-Creamer

Creamer, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

This is the creamer for my china. It goes with the kitchen theme for the week. Not feeling very creative today.

Day 46- Silver Reflection

Silver Reflection, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

I found this in my kitchen. It is my silver that my mom gave me. I like this one because you can see the reflection of the spoons in the knives.

Day 45-Whisk

Whisk, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

The theme this week is in the kitchen. My colon and I have a hate/hate relationship so I never cook. I decided to take macro pictures of the tools in my kitchen that I neglect. The first one is my whisk.

Day 44-Condensation

Condensation, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

This is condensation on the side of my Krystal cup taken w/macro lens. I'm so glad water week is now over. However, next week is even worse... in the kitchen. That is a place I never go so it will be interesting what I can come up with for that.

Day 43- Glitter

Glitter, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

So I'm at a loss to do something else for the water theme. I used a cup of water and floated some glitter in it. Then I used and straw and got it spinning. I am going to have to get out in the cold tomorrow and find something else to take a picture of for the final water shot.

Day 42-Water drop

Water drop, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

I took out a science book I have for my students and placed plastic wrap over the page. Then I dropped some water on it to magnify the image. I thought yesterday was hard to come up with ideas. I have no idea what I'm going to do for the last two days this week for water.

Day 41- Washing Machine

Washing Machine, originally uploaded by shaddybaby.

Ok, I'm grasping at straws with the water theme this week. It is way too cold to go out and look for water after I get off work. So I started the washing machine and took a picture. See, I told you I was grasping at straws.

Day 40- Refraction

After trying to catch a water drop mid air or hitting the water I gave up. I put the straw in the glass and sat back for a minute. That's when I decided to go all science nerd on you again. I left the straw in the water and took a refraction picture. It always fascinates my students....

Day 39- Chemistry

Today we did a chemistry experiment where the kids put food coloring in hot and cold water. They had to guess which would cause the color to spread faster. The kids always have a good time with this experiment and it just happened to fit with my 365 theme: water.

Day 38- Ice

My theme for the week is water. Ugh! I saw lots of water when I was out and about but nothing that I took a picture of. So I pulled an ice cube out of the tray and took a picture of it. So uninspiring.

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Day 37- Straws

I bought a pack of straws at the store the other day so I could take this picture. I saw it in the macro photography book I read and wanted to take one myself. I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I posted them both.
Settings:
Picture 1 f/4.5 1/2 sec. ISO-100
Picture 2 f/4.5 0.8 sec. ISO-100
The theme this coming week is water. I'm still thinking on this one but I think I'll have to get out of the house to take water pictures. No brilliant ideas yet though.

Friday, February 5, 2010

Day 36- Stamp Pad

I'm not feeling very creative today. I just took a picture of my favorite stamp pad. This one is black and the images stamped with this don't bleed when I use my favorite Copic markers.

Day 35- New Class Pets

We got two adult Madagascar hissing cockroaches for pets today. The kids were so excited! I took them out and put them on the Elmo so they could all see them on the smartboard.
This picture does nothing to show scale. These bugs are longer than my finger. And they really do hiss when you touch them. So cool!
You might remember our last class pet, Tater Tot. Well, he escaped and lots of people won't come in my classroom anymore. lol So the kids voted to name the new class pets today and they named them Chris and Michelle (after my husband and me). I sent Chris a picture and a text telling him and he said he was so excited to have a bug named after him (dripping with sarcasm of course).

Day 34- Ant Candy

Our reading story this week is about ants. So my friend and I ordered ant candy for our classes. I ordered chocolate covered ants. She ordered a candy like a jolly rancher with ants in it. I brought them home tonight to take pictures of them because I thought it isn't something you see everyday.
Check out the chocolates. See the little pieces that look like raisins? They are ant pieces. The kids are super excited about getting to eat ants tomorrow! One of my students said he was only eating them after I did. So it looks like I'm eating ants with them. I'll let you know how they taste.

Day 33- My honey's hobby

Today I decided to take some macro pictures of things my honey uses for one of his hobbies. The first picture is a tachometer he built. I can't even read the numbers on it without the macro lens. He also made the helmet. I have no idea how he has the patience to deal with these little parts. I told him I would end up throwing them across the room with frustration. lol
I also took pictures of the bolt heads he uses on things. Can you imagine dealing with these things? I included the dime in both pictures to show scale.

Day 32- Bogner Amp

Today's macro picture is of my husband's pride and joy, his Bogner amp. He bought the amp and I bought him the matching cabinet. He loves to play guitar and is a wonderful player. So he had to have the best amp to play though. The color on the amp is cream.
Settings: f/5, ss 1 sec., ISO-100
